Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Eastlake (CBTL) now offers free wifi. The password to access the “CoffeeBeanWiFi” hotspot is located on the 32″ television that hangs on the back wall. The WiFi password is displayed on the lower left hand corner of the television.

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is located in the Village Walk shopping center in Eastlake (East Chula Vista).

Big fan of the Transporter 1 & 2 movies. Just found the official trailer to the Transporter 3. Can’t wait to see this one. Frank Martin’s (Jason Statham) continues to drive an Audi, a black on black S8 i think, in this latest installment. Jason Statham and Daniel Craig (James Bond and Layer Cake) are this generation’s favorite action movie stars.

Dropped by the new Trek Bicycle Superstore in Eastlake on Lane Avenue, which happens to be five blocks from my house. After three visits to the REI store, I decided to look at some alternatives to my original choice: Marin Muirwoods 29er.

As I walked in I asked the guy to show me the Trek Soho. He walked me over to the only one in the store, which happen to be a 2007 Trek Soho 4.0. It was on sale for $799…just a bit outside of my budget. After I explained that to him, he showed me a Gary Fisher Wingra. As a novice, my initial impressions were good. Next I tried the Trek FX3. I noticed the difference immediately in a good way. Having tested the Trek FX3, I decided to ride the Soho 4.0. Why not I’m in the store. The bike looks awesome. What can I say, it rides great. I was thrown for a loop when I went to change speeds and realized it only had 8. The Soho is a great bike, but the FX3 was good enough for me.

Road my bike home and again tonight to Starbucks. Figured if I ride at least 300 miles, I will save one fill up at the pump, which allow me to recuperate my investment in 10 months. The salesman at the Trek Bicycle Superstore mention how hybrids are moving fast as a result of high gas prices.

Tomorrow I’m going to buy a wireless bike computer, so I can track how many miles I’ve t and how many calories I burn.

200 Marin Hamilton 29er bike available at REI

When I lived in the Gaslamp Quarter I enjoyed walking everywhere. I regularly would go for a walk after work with my Canon G9 around my neck, to get some fresh air and see what’s happening in the city. I really miss that here in the Suburbs. Walking around in downtown is a rich entertaining experience. Walking around in Eastlake is boring, because the community is surrounded by multiple drab business complexes.

I’ve decided to buy a bicycle. It’s something I thought about doing when I first moved into my apartment in the East Village. However, I decided against buying a bicycle because I thought walking from my apartment to my work live loft in the Gaslamp Quarter would be more fun. But now that I live in the suburbs again, I just want to get from my house to Starbucks and back in a safe manner, without driving my car: 0 MPGs.

Tomorrow, I am going visit the REI store in Otay Ranch Town Center. They sell Marin bikes. I am looking at the 2008 Hamilton 29er Marin Muirwoods 29er Bike ($649). I’m pretty much set on getting the bike. I decided to step up to the Muirwoods 29er over the Hamilton 29er because of the disc brakes and overall better reviews. Hopefully they have one in stock at the store that I can ride home in the same day. Most stores require you order it first.

Odometer Reads 6,000 Miles on Mario Lozano's 2008 VW R32

Every so often you hear someone refer to a car as a “driver’s car.” The 2008 VW R32 is a Driver’s Car. I love driving my R32 so much that I racked up 6,000 miles in 3 months. Six thousand miles and not one of them was to work. I work from home. Maybe a few miles were to the occasional meeting across town, but the bulk of them were for leisure.

A frequently asked question about my R32 is: how many miles per gallon? On average I get 23 MPGs. If I drive strictly freeway it jumps up to 26 MPGs. Not great, but then again if I wanted more I would have bought a Prius or Corolla.

call of duty: world at war

Really looking forward to playing Call of Duty: World at War. It’s going to be available on PS3, Xbox 360 and the wii. These next generations games coming out in the fall have the best graphics and game play ever. Call of Duty: World at War Trailer in HD after the jump.
